The Florida amendment proposes marijuana for only serious medical conditions, such as those suffering from cancer and AIDS.

Myth #2

The Florida amendment requires a physician’s prescription to obtain medical marijuana from a medically controlled pharmacy.

Myth #3

The Florida amendment requires parental consent for a minor to obtain medical marijuana.

No physician’s prescription is required to obtain medical marijuana. A patient only needs a “physician certification” from a licensed Florida physician.

Fact #3

The amendment allows teenagers to get medical marijuana without the consent of a parent.. There is no way to prevent sales to minors, or to stop diversion to minors.

Fact #4

Marijuana may have some medicinal properties, but we should not smoke the plant in order to derive those benefits; just as we do not smoke opium to get the benefits of morphine.

What Experts Are Saying

  • Florida leaders and citizens have worked for years to make the Sunshine State a world-class location.... Allowing large-scale marijuana operations to take root across Florida under the guise of using it for medicinal purposes runs counter to all of these efforts... I strongly urge Floridians to vote against Amendment 2 this November.Jeb BushJeb BushFormer Florida Governor
